This section comprises work produced in my studio at Elizabeth Bay (1990-94), and includes two series 'End of the Rainbow' and 'Books of Numbers'.

'End of the Rainbow' references the pervasiveness of gambling in society (risk management, financial services as well as gaming), the psychology of obsession and strategies of enticement used by purveyors. The vehicle for this is the ubiquitous 'scratch-lotto' ticket. The paintings engage with the turn-over of graphic forms and with the state of (induced) confusion as a form of stimulus.

"Books of Numbers" concerns how abstract concepts are rendered and transmitted materially.
